Microneedling is a revolutionary treatment that can help improve your skin as you get older without the need for invasive surgery. At the Aesthetic Center of Gainesville and Braselton, the licensed aesthetician uses a handheld device called a MicroPen, which consists of tiny, fine needles. The pen is used on the face to create extremely small holes, or micro-injuries. Once the skin has been injured, natural healing processes will kick into action to repair the skin through the generation of collagen and elastin. In turn, the skin will be firmer, smoother, and even in tone. This nonsurgical solution works to treat fine lines, wrinkles and scars.
"Dr. DJ Campbell is an amazing surgeon and very down to earth. Highly recommend!"- C.K. / Facebook / May 31, 2016
"An amazing Doctor ! - I went to see Dr. Davoodi recently about breast implants. Dr. Davoodi and his staff took time to listen to what I wanted and helped me chose the right size. I had a great experience with the whole office from the consultation where all my questions were answered to the sweet staff preparing me for surgery. I was very nervous as this was my first surgery ever but was confident in the whole process. Now I am 3 weeks out and look great. A perfect size and shape."- Anonymous / Vitals / Jun 24, 2016
"After three kids I decided to have a mommy makeover. Dr. Davoodi was highly recommended from my friend, he was super sweet and very thorough with all my questions . I love my breast lift and tummy tuck. Can't wait for the summer to come so I can show off my new body. Highly recommended."- Anonymous / Vitals / Sep 17, 2016
"Dr. Walton is such a caring doctor."- J.W. / Google / Aug 23, 2016
"Satisfied, and highly recommend - I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Davoodi for my breast reconstruction. I have had previous reconstruction for breast cancer in the past and the previous surgeries had complications which required multiple revisions to my breast. I did not think that there was any thing that could be done for my disfigured breast until I talked to my friend who had suirgery by Dr. Davoodi. She told me he does a great job on breast reconstruction and she was not wrong at all. I met with him two times prior to scheduling surgery and he answered all my questions and even encouraged my to bring my husband along. He was able to make revisions to my breast that now give me enough confidence to wear a bathing suit to the beach. WOW!! I am so grateful for his work and highly recommend him to future patients."- S. / Vitals / Jul 04, 2016
How it Works
Prior to the procedure, the treated area is cleaned and a thin layer of a topical gel is applied to numb the skin. The aesthetician will apply a sterile cartridge-tip with 12 micro-needles to a handheld device. The device will be pressed gently across the skin, gliding in one direction until the entire area has been treated. The feeling is comparable to sand paper moving over the skin. The procedure will result in tiny holes, known as micro channels, on the skin which will close almost immediately, triggering a healing response. This results in renewed skin, including a thickened dermis, which will soften the appearance of lines, wrinkles and scars. The procedure takes around 15-30 minutes.
What to Expect
A patient can expect the treated area to appear bright red, similar to a sunburn, immediately after microneedling. The redness can last anywhere from a day to up to a week. The intensity and duration of the redness are dependent upon the number of passes performed on the treatment area, as well as the particular area treated since microneedling can be performed on the face, neck, arms and décolleté. In some cases, there’s pinpoint bleeding. Since microneedling allows improved absorption of creams, gels and serums, a doctor will determine the best products for the patient post-procedure. These can include bleaching or lightening serums, vitamin C or hyaluronic serums to accelerate results.

After the Procedure
Right after the procedure, patients can expect the skin to glow. Over the course of a few weeks, a patient can expect to see a marked improvement in skin’s color, tone and texture. In addition, there should be a drastic reduction of lines and wrinkles. Microneedling is also effective in diminishing acne and traumatic scars and stretch marks. A patient’s appearance can continue to improve up to 6 months following initial treatment. While some patients benefit from a single treatment, 2-3 treatments are advised to get the best possible results. A doctor will work closely with a patient to develop the right course of treatment based on his or her individual needs.
