This patient came to see one of the plastic surgeons with the Aesthetic Center of Gainesville suffering from neck, back, and shoulder pain. She had used multiple support bras and anti-inflammatories to help alleviate the pain, with little or no improvement in the pain. After discussing these issues with our plastic surgeon, the patient and our surgeon came to the conclusion that the best way to alleviate this persistent pain would be to proceed with breast reduction surgery.

This patient came to see one of the plastic surgeons with the Aesthetic Center of Gainesville complaining of neck, back, and shoulder pain caused by the large size of her breasts. She has had large breasts since adolescence and desired to alleviate the pain caused by having large breasts. During the consult, the patient and our plastic surgeon decided that this patient would benefit greatly by having breast reduction surgery.

After the consult was completed, the patient's insurance company was contacted regarding breast reduction surgery in the ambulatory surgery center of the Aesthetic Center of Gainesville. After going through the precertification process with this patient's insurance company and receiving an approval to proceed with breast reduction surgery, the patient decided to schedule this surgery in the state licensed ambulatory surgery center of the Aesthetic Center of Gainesville.

During breast reduction surgery, our plastic surgeon removed 818 grams from this patient's right breast and 794 grams from this patient's left breast. This procedure took about three hours for our surgeon. Postoperatively, this patient was very pleased with her surgical result and did not complain of back, shoulder, and neck pain. She felt that she was free of the physical limitations caused by her large breasts.
